Private room and shared bathroom in a beautiful house in Varsity, 12-min walk to University of Calgary MacEwan Hall. Utilities and wifi included. Note: this is a special situation with reduced rent for lending a hand to the resident kitties and elderly couple. Being kitty-and-elderly-friendly is the top consideration! Speaking German (or Swiss!) would be a big plus. The room is available April 1 onwards, but we will work with your ideal move-in date as well, if possible. The house belongs to an elderly couple, who have lived here since the late 70's and used to teach math at UofC; we're looking for the right fit personality-wise: helpful, motivated, interested, kind. The person organizing this (me) is the 40+-year-old daughter (musician), and I frequently stay in the house as well. The residence is a 10-min walk to Market Mall, a 12-min walk to the LRT, and there is space for parking. The room available is in the basement, which gets afternoon sun, and has a lounge-area with TV screen and couches. The bathroom is shared by the residents of the other basement room, a lovely Ukrainian couple in their early 30's. You're also very welcome to use the (vegetarian) kitchen, and to the upstairs common areas for quiet study or reading. This house was full of children when I was growing up; there is lots of space. The house has a piano, and plenty of outdoor space as well. We are looking for someone organized, motivated, kind, caring, positive, good with cats and elderly people, respecting the vegetarian kitchen, (no partying, drama or addictions please). Please respond with why you would like to live here, your situation, and be able to provide references. The rent is low, but we will require a normal security deposit. Please note: I will not be showing the place without a video interview first (please disregard the "request a viewing" button.) Since you will be residing with elderly people, we'll also need you to be pathogen-careful. Thank you!
