We want to move to the Cariboo to be with family and have found a property we are excited about, but need to sell our Chilliwack Condo first.
Sadly, I am selling my split condo in the heart of the Fraser Valley in BC, the warmest climate in Canada. I call it a "split condo" because of its perfect geographical location, with a 70 acre recreational playground out the back gate, and every convenience out the front door.
As I sit in my recliner, I face west through the patio doors and see 70 acres of green space and directly across from me, I see the three children’s rubberized pump tracks, including the largest pump track in North America. Beside it is the children’s playground with the same safety flooring, followed by two skate parks and the waterpark.
To my left is the Leisure Centre with its wave pool, lap pool, hot tubs, sauna, full workout gym, and a physiotherapy clinic. To my right is the Cultural Centre featuring the Hub International Theatre, the art gallery, several sound rooms, and a recital hall. Next to the Cultural Centre is the Evergreen Seniors Hall with its gymnasium for Badminton and Pickleball, the Senior Centre, and bus tours to local attractions.
Behind those two is the new curling rink, and beyond that is the football stadium, home to the Chilliwack Huskers. To the south of that is the Chilliwack Colosseum (home of the Chilliwack Chiefs) and Townsend Park with its multiple soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and perimeter walking track.
If you find not enough recreation there, Chilliwack is close to five downhill ski mountains and just a bit further to the famous Whistler Blackcomb ski area. Chilliwack is amassed with walking trails, bike lanes, and mountain bike trails on Vedder Mountain. You’ll find world-class fishing in the Vedder, Chilliwack, and Fraser rivers, plus Cultus Lake in the summer for beaches and swimming—pretty much everything you can imagine.
That’s half of the split condo out the back gate. The other half is out the front door to all the goods and services you could want within just a few blocks, with a walk score of 89!
Turn right at the end of the driveway and you can see the hospital a block away, passing a pharmacy before you get there. Turn left and you will pass Mary Physiotherapy, Connect Hearing clinic, and an office building housing medical professionals—from dentists to ophthalmologists, orthopedists, and family doctors.
It is only 650 steps to the Southgate mall where you will find Shoppers Drug Mart, Barton’s Hub International Insurance, a UPS store, and Mary’s Fried Chicken. Across the road, you have Starbucks, KFC, Co-operators Insurance, and another pharmacy. A few more steps and you pass notary publics, the museum, and hit the Salish mall with Save On Foods, CIBC bank, liquor store, dollar store, Subway, Starbucks, and 3 more banks, and HSBC just up the street.
It's a great fiscal move to escape all those speed bumps to an inexpensive condo with an 89 walk score. With high fuel costs you can leave the car in the garage!
Here is a large condo with a Master Bedroom big enough for a King bed and 2 bedside tables, as well as a 2nd bedroom, cheater bathroom, and 1,130 sq. ft. total.
Don’t worry about the electric heat, as we haven’t used it in our 12 years here; the gas fireplace heats the whole condo and the gas is part of the Strata fees. And look at all those kitchen cupboards and counter space! This unit features commercial-grade vinyl plank flooring with a 20-year warranty and crown moulding for a touch of elegance.
