Position Summary
The Advertising & Promotions Coordinator drives H-Mart’s growth by leading advertising and promotional campaigns. Collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and external partners, they oversee each campaign from concept to launch, enhancing customer engagement and strengthening market positioning while ensuring timely and effective execution.
Job Duties:
1. Plan, coordinate, and support corporate-level advertising and promotional strategies for multiple H-Mart locations, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, brand positioning, and seasonal sales priorities across Alberta operations;
2. Assist in developing integrated marketing and promotion plans for Korean and Asian food products, incorporating cultural holidays, ethnic consumer behaviour, and regional market trends that require specialized cultural and cultural competency/multicultural marketing/product knowledge;
3. Coordinate the production and execution of weekly and seasonal promotional materials (print and digital flyers), including centralized product selection, pricing validation, promotional scheduling, and quality control for use across multiple store locations;
4. Manage and coordinate advertising placements with ethnic newspapers, community media, and digital platforms, ensuring consistency with corporate branding standards, Canadian advertising regulations, and internal compliance requirements;
5. Collaborate with internal merchandising, purchasing, and operations teams at the head office level, acting as a central liaison to ensure promotional initiatives are executed consistently and efficiently across store locations;
6. Coordinate with external designers, marketing agencies, and digital partners to support the development of culturally relevant advertising content tailored to Korean and broader Asian consumer segments;
7. Support digital marketing initiatives, including website promotions, email campaigns, social media coordination, digital content planning, SEO optimization, and vendor and supplier promotion strategies, while ensuring consistent messaging across corporate and community based platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Kakao, and other relevant channels;
8. Coordinate vendor-funded promotional programs by liaising with Korean and Asian food suppliers regarding promotional participation, co-op funding, product availability, and joint initiatives such as product demonstrations, tastings, and special promotional events;
9. Track, monitor, and support the administration of advertising and promotional budgets, including processing invoices, maintaining contracts and documentation, and ensuring expenditures align with approved corporate marketing plans;
10. Collect, analyze, and summarize sales performance and promotional effectiveness data from multiple locations, preparing internal reports and recommendations to support future corporate marketing and promotional strategies;
11. Act as a communication bridge between head office, store management teams, vendors, and advertising partners, ensuring timely coordination, consistent execution, and resolution of operational issues related to marketing and promotional activities

Requirements:
- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience
(Marketing/Advertising/Communications or Business Management degree preferred but not necessary)
