This is a long shot, but this community has pulled off miracles before.
In August 1980, a musician I know named Jeff Seitz filled in for an injured Stewart Copeland on drums for a one-night concert with The Police in Biarritz, France. That show was captured by the crew as a soundboard recording on a cassette tape — labeled something like "BIARRITZ 8/18/80" in handwriting on a paper sticker label.
That tape later went missing from The Police's tour bus sometime in October 1980, at or near one of three Canadian venues: the Max Bell Arena in Calgary, the Regina Arts Center, or the Winnipeg Arena.
**What it looks like:**
- A standard black cassette tape
- Paper sticker label reading "BIARRITZ 8/18/80" or something very close to that
- Could be in a case or loose
- May have been sitting in a box, a thrift store, an estate sale, or someone's collection for 40+ years
This is believed to be the only known recording of that performance (no audience recordings are known). As a soundboard tape, the audio quality would be significantly better than a typical audience bootleg. I'd love to track it down and get it back to Jeff.
**I am offering a $1,000 reward for its return as a verified item, post-review of the content for authenticity.**
