Terms and conditions of employment: Permanent, full time (44 to 50 hours/week); Day, morning, evening, night, weekend, overtime
Salary: $55,000.00 / year

• Oversee all aspects of the creation of food:
o Plan and develop menus.
o Create new recipes.
• Oversee preparation of food:
o Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of restaurants.
o May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, for special guests or functions and events such as banquets.
o Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
o Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff.
• Oversee kitchen operations.
• Recruit and train staff.
• Supervise chefs, cooks and other kitchen staff.
• Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance.
• Implement operational procedures.
• Quality control:
o Ensure food meets quality standards.
o Address customers' complaints or concerns.
o Monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices.
o Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs.
o Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
o Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
o Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies.
• Oversee catering operations:
o Determine type of services to be offered.
o Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities.
o Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions.
Education: Completion of a Culinary Degree or equivalent
Experience: 3 years of related experience
Ability to Supervise: More than 20 people
