The position of Assistant Hostel Manager is a full-time, permanent position. As the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Hostel Manager in all aspects of hostel operations in accordance with Hostelling International Pacific Mountain Region policies, procedures and mission statement.
You will provide hostel staff with day-to-day “hands-on” leadership that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the Association and sets the example and high customer service standards for staff to follow. You will directly supervise and train the Front Desk staff and Housekeeping Team, and will provide excellent customer service by working shifts at the desk. You will manage other administrative tasks and chair the Health and Safety Committee.
The successful candidate will have strong supervisory experience and skills in front desk or customer service operations. You will have a reputation for remaining composed in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and completing multiple tasks, and successfully leading a team in providing excellent customer service. You will work Wednesday - Sunday (off Monday/Tuesday), schedule can be discussed at interview. You must be available to occasionally cover Night Audit Relief shifts.
The salary range is $36,000 - $39,000 per year commensurate upon experience; extensive health and dental benefits and company matching RRSP program are also part of overall compensation package.
