At Tofino Resort + Marina we are inspired by adventure, and we are seeking the next adventurous employee to join our team in beautiful Tofino, British Columbia. Tofino Resort + Marina is an adventure-focused resort with 62 rooms located on the waterfront and is also the proud home of 1909 Kitchen and The Hatch Waterfront Pub.

Set in the heart of town, on the water, Tofino Resort + Marina is a comfortable and capable base camp for west coast adventure. We serve the authentic Tofino experience, from fantastic food to the famous fishing of Clayoquot to the surf breaks of Long Beach. Care to join us?

Job Description:

Complete opening and closing checklists.
Refer to daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
Prepare a variety meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in various types of food equipment.
Understands and compiles consistently with our standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Follows proper plate presentation and garnishes.
Uses our standard recipes for preparing all products.
Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including prep tables, shelves, walls, stoves, convection ovens, deep fryers, refrigeration equipment, and more.
Close kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations.
Inform Executive Chef immediately of any product shortages.
Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen manager, or the MOD at any time.
Keep the highest hygiene condition.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

Must have basic knowledge of cooking and food handling procedures.
Must have an understanding and knowledge of safety and sanitation
Previous cooking experience.
Have the ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
Have the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Passionate about working with quality ingredients
